Dave is Producer and Chairman of the Gibson Group. He has produced feature films and television programmes that have sold in over eighty countries worldwide. He has co-produced major television drama series and feature films with partners based in Canada, Britain, Australia and Sweden. The success of these ventures has ensured that Gibson Group is well positioned to co-partner with other international companies who wish to work in New Zealand or the Pacific region.

Dave’s recent work includes multi award-winning drama series The Insider’s Guide to Happiness, The Insider’s Guide to Love, The Hothouse and telemovies Aftershock, Eruption, and co-production Panic at Rock Island. On the children’s drama front, he has recently worked as a producer on co-productions Time Trackers, Paradise Café and the sitcom Emu for Endemol and ITV.

Dave has served on the board of the New Zealand Drama School. He was the inaugural Chair of the New Zealand Independent Producers and Directors Guild and chaired the first New Zealand Film and Television Conference in 1992. He was Chairman of Project Blue Sky (a major New Zealand film and television initiative) and in 1997/1998 was the President of SPADA, an organisation which represents over 160 New Zealand producers and directors industry-wide.  In 2005, he was awarded the honour of SPADA Industry Champion.
